Silver Surfer Table
The Silver Surfer Table
A Sculptural Dialogue Between Time, Texture, and Transformation
Part of John Brevard’s Decay of Time collection, the Silver Surfer Table is a one-of-a-kind functional sculpture—a sleek yet powerful fusion of elemental materials and visionary design. Shaped like a surfboard and engineered with extendable, rotating legs, it shifts effortlessly from desk to coffee table, embodying the art of transformation.
Each piece in the collection begins with coral washed ashore from beaches impacted by climate change—remnants of nature, reimagined. Cast in molten recycled zinc, the coral forms burn away, leaving behind ghostly impressions—moments fossilized in metal. These haunting textures are balanced by polished petrified wood, sourced sustainably from Indonesian rainforests and finished by hand to a radiant gloss.
The result is a timeless object where raw earth and refined form coexist—where decay becomes beauty, and function becomes statement. Durable. Sustainable. Deeply symbolic.
