The Parametric Chair

A Throne of Flow, Crafted by Hand

The Parametric Chair by John Brevard is a fluid monument to craftsmanship—each curve a whisper of movement, each layer a reflection of life’s evolving form. Unlike most parametric furniture rendered by machine, this limited-edition throne is carved entirely by hand from solid teakwood, offering a raw, organic texture that honors the human touch.

Part of the Morphogen Series, its form is rooted in morphê—the Greek word for “beginning of shape.” Inspired by the natural process of morphogenesis, the chair’s web-like structure appears to stretch, pull, and evolve, mimicking the graceful complexity of biological growth. Every piece is made to order, fully customizable, and finished in a soft white-wash for a light, ethereal presence that suits both modern interiors and sacred architectural spaces.

The material—Grade A teakwood—is chosen for its timeless resilience. Revered across Southeast Asia and later in Europe, teak is known for its ability to withstand humidity, decay, and the passage of time. Each piece is sourced from sustainably cultivated trees, matured over 80 years, and harvested without irrigation or chemical interference to preserve the Earth’s ecological balance.
