Coral Decay 1
Coral Decay #1
Coral Decay #1 is the inaugural work of John Brevard's Decay of Time Series — a sacred geometry meditation on loss, resilience, and material transformation. Climate-displaced coral collected personally from shorelines worldwide is pressed into raw earth clay and cast in recycled molten zinc — burning away to leave a haunting exact fossilised void in permanent elemental metal. A remnant of a dying ocean made architectural. An elegy made beautiful.
Crowned with hand-excavated Indonesian petrified wood — uncovered without machinery over months of dedicated excavation, cut with diamond blades and polished over days to reveal geological grain from pale ivory to deep warm brown. Sealed with a refined resin layer for lasting protection and tactile comfort.
Handcrafted as a singular collectible art object — entirely handmade, hand-polished, no two ever alike — it embodies harmonic proportion, elemental depth, and energetic resonance within every fossilised impression. This is not simply furniture. It is the founding consecrated monument of the Decay of Time Series — preserved forever in sacred intentional form.
Inaugural work. Limited edition. No two ever alike.
